Oh Jeez, Oh No, My Rabbits Are Gone!!!
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux
A scary noise in the night has spooked your poor rabbits, and now all 100 of them have scattered across the valley! Run, climb, jump, and call out commands to your darling bunnies to bring them home to safety in this short n' sweet puzzle platformer — but make sure to be home before dark.
- A picturesque valley with 100 rabbits to rescue
- Various secrets and collectibles to discover
- Several different types of rabbits, often with unique abilities for solving puzzles
- Charming, handcrafted pixel visuals with a wonderful soundtrack to match
- Did we mention bunnies?
Along your way, beware the shapes in the darkness. Your rabbits aren't the only creatures in the valley, and the other ones may not be as friendly. Make sure you get home before dark! They almost look kind of cute, though...
Thankfully, the other faces in the valley certainly are friendly ones. Now who's this cutie with a bunny in her arms?
You can get the soundtrack here!

Really really good game. The variety of puzzles was surprising and the mechanics were introduced at a pace that kept things from getting overwhelming.
The music is also excellent, especially during the last two phases.
Cute rabbits, good soundtrack, and the art is gorgeous in some places. Had to resort to Windows because gamepad support on Linux didn't work right and couldn't be turned off. Had a good time playing, though! I can tell a lot of time, effort and love went into this game <3
I've finally played the game and finished it (all the rabbits but not the palettes). It was really fun! Very inventive and nice puzzles.
Thank you!
So glad you enjoyed! Congrats on saving all the rabbits :)
I'm stuck. I can beat this room just fine
but after that, I can't enter this corridor. I think the rabbit spawns a pixel or two too low.
Hi, can I ask what OS you’re playing on and what version of the game? Also, forgive me if this sounds silly, but does this happen if you hold left during the entire transition between those rooms? Thanks for the report!
Windows 7, issue reproduces on both 1.3.0.2 and 1.3.1.2.
Yes, holding left during that transition spawns the rabbit inside the corridor, and lets me enter and exit freely. The easiest fix is probably adding some invisible blocks under spawn, it's not like you can legitimately touch those tiles.
Other than this bug, excellent game.
Thanks! I’ll see what I can do to fix this for the next update. Glad that holding left seemed to work for ya. Happy to hear you enjoyed the game :)
This game is really good!! This is definitely one of my favorite games in the entire bundle
Thanks so much! So glad you enjoyed :)
I have all profile stars, but I can't get to the last palette. I'm at the wall with the star symbol, but nothing happens.
This is a bug that happens sometimes where I believe you need to reload the room after you touch it and try again…? My mistake for not having this fixed yet
Hi @Aegarain - I believe this issue should have been fixed with the release of version 1.3.1.2. Can you verify whether this is still an issue? Thanks!
I really enjoyed this game! The puzzles were expertly paced - they never felt impossible, yet they never felt too easy. The exploration was absolutely great - it was satisfying to hit switches or get keys to finally find out how to rescue a rabbit the game teased me with on one screen with a wall. The music is super good, the Forest theme probably being my favorite. The way the game combined all of the various different mechanics near the end was great, and some of the puzzles really got me thinking. I highly recommend this game to anybody who likes fun.
The puzzles were fantastic. The exploration was fantastic. I really enjoyed figuring out how to get around the world map. The quality of life additions were great. The button remapping options, too. The audio details impressed me. The collectibles were well-hidden. The palettes were fun to use, including the pride flags.
One thing that was a source of frustration was mixing up the buttons, which I did often. I would often jump to my death when I was trying to confirm a speech command on the wheel. Jump and confirm share a button, and when I was pressed for time, I would OFTEN press jump while the wheel wasn't up, when though I thought I was doing it right. That's what I mean by mixing up my buttons.
This is a puzzle platformer in the vein of the Abe's Odyssey games, where you "direct" the rabbits towards the goal by giving them commands such as "follow me, stay there, jump", etc. The game very quickly manages to come into its own by adding new rules and rabbit types to keep things fresh along the way while you explore the interconnected levels to search for the next opportunity to progress, which is never far away. Good soundtrack, pleasant amount of complexity and surprisingly fulfilling amount of content for a few hours. I have some minor gripes with the controls, the square screen format and some weird visual decisions (while the game is utterly beautiful at other times) but it doesnt really matter much, as this is just a smart game, very adorable and I thoroughly enjoyed helping solve those puzzles and exploring the interconnected world. Definitely among the best games in the bundle and you should absolutely play it if you enjoy the genre. 4,5/5

Hello! Thought you might like to know – I streamed your game earlier today (for my first-ever stream) and thought it was quite lovely! Intending to keep going with it whenever I stream next (probably in a week?).
Late reply but I hope you had fun!
A wholesome and lovely game. It's like a very cute Abe's Oddysee, I really dug the atmosphere and pretty much everything about it. Rescued every rabbit in the end!
I actually thought the first world was the entire world so that was a nice surprise. I'd love to see another game along these lines from you.
Thank you so much!! I'm very glad you liked it, and hopefully there will be more to come! 💖
This was super cute and fun! Great work on everything; the puzzles got pretty challenging near the end, and introducing new elements all the way through kept everything fresh and interesting. I hope we'll see more cute games from you in the future!
Thank you very much for the support, I’m glad you enjoyed! Stay tuned for what we do next! <3
This game was delightful! I loved it so much I made a TVTropes page for it - I hope I didn't get anything wrong. <_<
I also have a question - I just noticed above that the download comes with a Steam key. Was that also true during the RJE bundle and I missed it?
That was not true of the bundle, you had to buy it here! ;) As for the TVTropes page, wow, thanks, that’s so cool!!! And it all looks right to me, good job! ^^
Ah, okay - that explains why I couldn't find it. :) Thanks!
I could use a little hint. I'm at 27/30 rabbits collected in the first area, and I think I've been everywhere on the map, with all four shape doors unlocked, and all of the doors that I could find completed, but there are no rabbit icons or exclamation points on the map to indicate where the last 3 might be. I also have a hard time understanding what the icons on the map mean in general.
Did you collect all the rabbits in the area at the top right? And have you made sure all your map spaces have been filled out? You won’t see rabbits hidden in unvisited tiles. (Tiles you CAN’T visit fill out automatically when in relevant adjacent areas– if an area isn’t filled, you can get to it.)
We are aware that unfilled map tiles are too visually similar to filled map tiles, so if that’s the issue, we’re hoping to correct it soon.
I think that's the hint I needed. 😊 You're right that I couldn't tell that certain tiles were unvisited and accessible. I found two in the upper right, and so there's one left, which is probably in a tile that looks like it's unfilled and therefore accessible as you say. (Columns 5 and 6, row 2.)
Edit: That was it! Thanks!
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uwcBg_InwFK1k0iziJ8z1Wi2GdjbX3LZ/view I'm stuck :c
Oh no! Our mistake! I didn’t think about this interaction, I’ll leave a way out next patch.
<3
Glitched my way somewhere I shouldn't have. In the previous room to the right I entered the room too low to fly through the gap, and ever time I hit 'reset room' I spawned a few pixels lower.
Woah, I thought we fixed this one! We’ll try to make it extra fixed next patch.
Updated to 1.1.06 (win), still falling just short of being able to continue.
an extremely tightly designed puzzle platformer with a lot of depth and a wonderful visual presentation. legitimately incredible, buy this dang thing and play it now.
An incredibly cute and tight puzzle game with a fantastic dev team behind them. Absolutely worth the price!
^^
Hi, this game is really cute and I'm liking it a lot so far!! That said, I don't see any way to control movement with the dpad when using a controller? The hidden platforming puzzle in the first zone (the one with the timed doors) was pretty finicky to do with an analog stick, and I'd really rather be using the dpad for a game like this. I'll probably be fiddling with Steam's controller config thing to set that up.
Also, the game doesn't seem to be picking up the select button or the right stick on my gamepad at all? But I doubt that's something you can do much about, since frankly GameMaker's Linux support has never been very good (I'm on Fedora 32 and had to set up library symlinks like the other commenters).
Anyway, thanks so much for this game, keep up the good work!!
(btw I very much appreciate the inclusion of pride palettes by default :3)
Quick update: unfortunately using the Steam configurator doesn't work super well with this game, since mixing keyboard and controller buttons causes the game to pop up "new input detected" anytime it gets input from one to the other, and it seems like the gamepad buttons are being detected regardless of if I'm overriding them :(
The controller UX stuff is pretty slick honestly, and it would be great if the controller already worked correctly, but once you want to use fiddly configs like this, it kind of falls apart a little... I think other games have worked around this by giving you the option to disable controller inputs, along with choosing your button prompts manually and stuff like that.
Hello! And… ah jeez! The dpad thing was actually on our radar, but we never got around to getting it to work… was being finicky prior to release, I think, and then after release I fixed all the immediate bugs and put it on pause. I’m picking it back up now though, so you can expect me to fix dpad support within the week, I’d like to say?
I can also add an option to prevent it from automatically detecting inputs, too– this won’t allow you to input using Keyboard controls and Controller controls simultaneously (it just isn’t set up that way!), but it should allow you to remap your controller to keyboard inputs and do what you were trying to do in the first place.
I’m glad you’re enjoying the game in spite of these issues, and while I can’t guarantee they’ll be fixed too quickly, I promise I will fix them!
Thanks for replying! I ended up playing through with my Steam Controller instead—it just behaves as a keyboard so I don't have the gamepad-specific problems, and the smaller analog stick is at least usable for this game, though (even having the silly touchpad as a dpad) it's still not a substitute for a proper dpad. Worked out just fine c:
Anyway, I finished the game a few minutes ago! It had a lot of neat puzzles, was very satisfying to explore even if I got stuck a couple times, and threw me some curveballs (especially towards the end). Also there's lesbians so that just makes it even better!! (I've had a good streak of selecting games with lesbians from the bundle it seems, intentionally or otherwise 🤔)
Was surprised to see that I missed so many palettes though, I only got 32/43! They must be well-hidden :o
I’m glad you found something that worked for you in the end! And you must be lucky– OR there are a lot of lesbians in the bundle, take your pick. Probably the latter!
A lot of the palettes are very carefully hidden and some of them even have special prerequisites that need to be met, assuming I didn’t break those in an update, so good luck to anyone trying to find them all ;)
Had to symlink a few libraries to get this working under Fedora 32:
ln -s /usr/lib64/libcrypto.so.1.0.2o /usr/lib64/libcrypto.so.1.0.0
ln -s /usr/lib64/libcurl.so.4 /usr/lib64/libcurl-gnutls.so.4
ln -s /usr/lib64/libssl.so.1.0.2o /usr/lib64/libssl.so.1.0.0
I've only played about 10 minutes or so, but I did get to pet at least 3 rabbits in that brief period so it gets a thumbs up from me.
You run around and pet buns. It's an absolute joy.
Playing this game in openSUSE, I had to do a bit of command line tomfoolery. I was getting an error about libcurl-gnutls.so when trying to run from the command line.
The solution was to run this:
sudo ln -s /usr/lib64/libcurl.so.4 /usr/lib64/libcurl-gnutls.so.4
The game booted right up and played like a dream afterwards.
EDIT: It looks like the Studio Nevermore has found out about the problems regarding the newest Linux build of the game. I just wanted to report that the Windows version works very well with Proton 4.11, but hopefully the native Linux build will work soon!
Think I just 101% the game and loved it all the way, total delight to play though.
This game is such a delight! I love being able to just stop to pet the bunbuns. The map could perhaps use a bit more clarity but I guess this comes with the art style.
I got this in a bundle and I loved it!! It was a real joy from start to finish! Thanks so much for making this game!
Very nice pacing. New elements came in at just the right time to keep things interesting, and it wasn't too hard or too easy. Art was good, soundtrack was good - just overall a great little game. I might be biased because I love buns, but if you're considering this game I strongly recommend it, and to the devs, great work!
The game seems very cute and I love bunys, however, it doesn't want to run on my system. I am running ubuntu 19.10. I get this error:
error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.1.0.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Actually I managed to get the game to run. I ran this command:
sudo locate libcrypto.so.1.0.0
and used a path to the file for this command
sudo cp <path> /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/
Hey there, we’re very glad you figured it out! In truth, none of us are native Linux developers, so it’s hard to test for Linux use on our own– all we know is that Gamemaker’s linux export is designed for Ubuntu (which you’re on, which leads me to believe there are other problems!).
We’ll need to get more linux users to help us optimize the experience and iron out issues like this.
We hope you enjoy the game regardless! -Polar
I have enjoyed the game so far, I got the first 30 buns c:
I believe the game may have been compiled for an older version of linux which uses an out of date library, if that helps. I wouldn't mind helping out with testing on linux if you need it.
We have linux friends to help us! When we update the game, we’ll be sure to ask them for help. Thank you for the offer, though!
i really love this so far! just extremely cute though i do get very nervous every time a rabbit goes into the water
that said i think i uh, shouldn't be able to get here, because i sure can't get out, even by resetting the room
…You definitely shouldn’t be able to get out there!! I’ll keep that in mind for the next patch, woops. -Polar
if it helps, the green vertical wall on the right was allowing me to climb onto it fsr!
